2nd Grade Monday Minutes
Week of May 9th – 13th
The second grade will be taking the Measures of Academic Progress (MAP) tests this Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday morning from 8:45 – 9:45 am. Please make sure your son/daughter gets a good night’s sleep and eats a healthy breakfast on these days.

2nd Grade Monday Minutes
Week of May 2nd - 6th
We will be starting a science unit on SOILS next week. Please send a ziplock bag with about 2 cups of soil from your garden, woods, yard, or field by next Monday. We still need about 3 dozen redworms from a local bait shop. Please let me know if you would be willing to get the worms for the class. Thanks so much!
Thursday, May 5th - Progress reports will be sent home on an as-needed basis.
Friday, May 6th - Grandparents Day

Math: Unit 10 – Writing money amounts using decimal notation. Using a calculator to solve problems with money. Estimating and finding exact costs. Making Change
Science: What makes things move; Forces; Magnets; Machines
Social Studies: Unit Review pages 112-114 in textbook. Start Unit 4: Economics

2nd Grade Monday Minutes
Week of May 31st – June 3rd
Book Report Projects and May Reading Minutes were due today. They will still be accepted tomorrow morning.
May’s incentive activity for those who met the monthly goals is a special snack: Build Your Own Sundae (with the works) !
Practice Math Facts at home: addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division!

Math: Multiplication facts, turn-around facts, fact families, Unit 11 Progress Check
Science: Finish Soils Unit: How do different soils hold water?, check what’s happened in our compost bags, test our local soils, quiz
Social Studies: Lesson 3 -Goods and Services; Lesson 4- Producers and Consumers
